I't about time

I got the news back from the GI guy and the test did indeed show her stomach emptied abnormally slow. He is putting her on a drug for now that will hopefully help her with this. We meet with him on July 1st to talk about it further... It works out well because we will hit Spokane in the morning and then head off the Idaho Falls for the Crook reunion there after. depending on how long the visit takes, will depend on if we make it all the way there in one day or two :)
On a cute note, Hannah does not say much.. maybe 20 words, and had recently said pillow. She loves to say it and calls everything pillow.. with an emphasis on the l's. so it should like peellouw. It is just very cute. OK so maybe I am easily entertained.
Micah and Emy get out of school on the 3rd and could not be happier about it! ( I am not sure I am ready for having them around all the time) I hope to keep us all very busy this summer with fun little things and a few vacations... last year we did not get any vacations so this year it would be fabulous to get those in.
Just for those that may want to know... the plan is to go to Idaho Falls and surrounding areas July 1st til around the 8th or so. We are planning a trip to Seattle in August for Kalaloch and perhaps again in October around Halloween- but that will depend on a training Trent needs to attend in Seattle.
Well get ready for lots of Birthday pics to come.. we will kick it off with Cassie on the 5th, then Trent and Hannah on the 9th, me on the 10th and then we will round it off with Micah on the 21st! whew it is a birthday bonanza in June!!! Emeline is the only special one with a Birthday in March.. It is so funny how that worked out ( I mean really.. we planned to miss it with Hannah and no one could have told me she was going to come 3.2 months early)

I am so grateful for my friends here in Moscow that have sat with me on life's rollercoster!
More than friends, they are my sisters in every way!!

I know I need to learn patience, but really I think 3 weeks is plenty of time to review some tests and get back to a mom. I have called and left several messages but what it comes down to I think is that this GI guy is way way busy! I did end up seeing my family doctor and at that visit my doctor asked me what the GI doctor's plan was. I was rather confused and she told me that she got the tests back and there was a definite abnormality in Hannah's stomach emptying study. I was thinking, I wish I new. Knowing that she threw up and such in her test, I new it would show what I was seeing. I just hope it is fixable. I just want a plan. Other than that we are doing great. They kids are counting down til the last day of school.. then the plans to keep them busy start. I hope to take a few trips and really enjoy the summer with the kids!
I have been very busy the last few weeks and that has helped me keep my mind off of waiting and waiting. One of my best of friends here in Moscow had some pregnancy issues toward the end of her pregnancy and I was so grateful that I got to help her out. This friend, Becki was with me through all of the Hannah stuff. She helped with my children and Trent's sanity while Hannah and I were in Spokane. She was always there to just listen to me cry and I have to say, the best feeling in the world was returning the favor. She has had her baby but is now having problems recovering from her c-section. Her incision has opened up and has developed an infection. I know she will recover but the road looks very long. They are wondering at this point if she needs to see a wound specialist. I can help her in so many ways but she could really use some prayers right about now. I am not one to ask for prayers, but if you can take a minute and pray that her wound will heal and she will recover for her family, I would greatly appreciate it.

We got to Spokane and Hannah did really well considering for the x-rays. She had an emptying study done and not an upper GI, I think that is the next one depending on what we see. They fed her a sandwich with a small amount of "tracers" in it and then bundled her to a board, with her arms being the only thing she could move and then "sandwiched" between to x-ray scanners and watched what her stomach did for an hour. Yeah I said an hour of being restrained, not really that fun for little girl! It was so sad, she was crying and upset.
She performed well for the x-ray however and she threw up twice for them so they got it! I am just hoping that they have a solution for us on how to stop the spitting up and vomit once and for all. No one should consider it normal or standard to have your almost 2 year old vomit 1-2 times a week just because!
Hannah threw up in her bed Monday night, I went in and she stands completely still. she shows me it by pointing and asked for her juice. I took off her clothing, wiped her up, she is getting good at not getting much on herself, and then I wipe up her bedding to remove chunks and then change out her sheet. she missed her blanket so she got to keep that. She laid down and went right back to sleep like nothing happened. This should not be a norm, but I know it all to well. She has been watched by a dear friend through lunch time and was fed Mac and cheese. Because the mac and cheese was not chopped up, and she got too much, (things I forgot to tell her to do) I knew that there was a high chance that Hannah was going to throw it up at bedtime, so again I was not surprised. I just want it to get better so that we can be less familiar with barf in the future.

Hannah's trip to Spokane to meet with GI peds doctor

Hannah had her first appointment with a GI peds doctor in Spokane on Monday. We talked about history, what we have done thus far, what the concerns where and what symptoms Hannah is currently having. They did weight, height, and head measurements. The Doctor was so wonderful and listened to me and asked wonderful questions. I really appreciated the knowledge of the specialist and what he had in mind and what he thought was going on at this point.
At this point his thoughts are that Hannah has a problem with how her stomach empties, well how is does not empty well, actually. He gave it a name but, well i focused on what we were going to do to check it out further and not the name of it. He switched up one of her meds and took her off a medicine she was on. He ordered blood draw labs to rule out any diseases that could cause similar problems and He scheduled Hannah to have an upper GI done at Sacred Heart Medical for Tuesday May 5th at 8:30am. He wanted this test done at his hospital so that pediatric radiologist would review the films. Also they are better staffed to x-ray younger children. I felt comfortable with his choice and agree that it is worth the money to travel back to Spokane for her testing.
I will keep you posted on what is found and what courses my be taken. I am never sure how the road is going to turn out but I always know that they Lord will be with us down it. We have been truly blessed on how well Hannah has done, after how rough a start she had coming into this world. This GI specialist was scheduling out to November when we first were referred ( he is the only one in Spokane) and we were truly blessed that I was on the phone with the office when someone called and cancelled for April, we only had to wait 3 weeks. We continue to be blessed and looked after!

Welcome Spring!!!

I have to say it has been a long long wait but it looks like spring has finally sprung! It is over 70 degrees here and we are loving it. I forgot all about sun block and the first day we all ended up with Rosy cheeks and arms! I still love it but I had to do and buy sunblock, I could not find ours from last year. Hannah has discovered slides and thinks they are the best thing next to apple juice. I broke out the summer clothes and found that Micah, Emeline and Cassie have grown a bit more than I would have thought and so I get to find Summer clothing for Micah and Emy. (Cassie gets Emy's hand me downs) I got the bikes and stroller/trailer out and we have put it the in action again. I look forward to more sunny days! I will get pictures of us in the great outdoors in the next few days...

Easter Day!

The Kids in their Sunday duds! For the first time I was not able to get the girls matching dresses, but it work out well anyways and they looked so cute in them. Micah got a new shirt and we are on the look out for a new suit for him, the one he got from his baptism no longer fits him and it was a sad day in our home! (I love Costco and their affordable clothing!)

Hannah and her first real Easter egg hunt.. she loved finding the eggs and eating what was inside! She has no shirt on because she spilled her drink all down the front of her and was wet and sticky!

We had a great Sunday meeting for Easter, It was an Elders home coming and the talks were wonderful! Our Choir did a fabulous job with the music they performed and I was brave and took Hannah into nursery for the first time. (there are so many germs we waited) She did great and aside from snack time and Hannah's allergies it when wonderful. She was very exhausted afterward. I stayed with her this time and will slowly back out. We got together with a couple of families and had a great time at one of their homes! We had to hide the eggs in the house due to rain.
