I think I got a monkey instead of a little girl. Hannah has everything but the tail, and I think a tail may be a good additions so as to help balance herself more when she is climbing the walls. My children always amaze me, I think it is because I want to know what motivated them to do, whatever it is that they have just done.. i.e.. toothpaste on the mirrors. Hannah, who does not talk much except to grunt or put out some very simple sounds of bi-bi, and ba-ba, has proven her strengths in other areas, like motor skills. Hannah loves to climb on, in and over anything she can figure out. she loves to empty containers and drawers and sit in them, she loves to push things over to other objects and climb up ( she pushed a plastic container over to the couch so that she could climb up on the couch and then climb on to daddy's desk). Today she mastered a new skill... bookshelves. I found her on the second shelf today, trying to knock off a container on it that had something shinny in it. When she realized she was caught red handed, she simple gave me a huge grin and climbed back down, and then laid on the floor (another things she is good at.. when she thinks she is in trouble, she will just lay down on the floor, like she is going to go to bed) She may not be talking much but she makes up for it is stinker.. aka monkey!
On a side note... I am not a huge fan of boasting about my children and their school or church accomplishments but I really wanted to share how proud I am of my two school age children. Micah who has not always done really well in reading has really worked hard this past year and is now in our schools Literature group (gifted and talented program). I am so very excited with how much progress he has made and that he was able to actually pull ahead and excel! Emeline who has struggles with reading this year, has shown some huge strides in reading and is getting back on track. She has also shown growth in her social and reasoning skills, which are HUGE jumps for her! I really love that they work so hard and it is showing! I love being a mom! Any progress is good progress!

Vacation Photos
Linsey's little girl Jordan (sorry if I spelled that wrong) thought the envelopes look best on the ground out side of the box.. I was glad it was not my kid!
Ah Nuts.. Grandma's spiced nuts.. actually these did not go over well with my digestive track and ended up making me rather sick, and eventually they came back up.. So my body was not sure what to do with the bile without my gall bladder :0 opps!

So if you can believe it.. this was just after we had gotten to Grandma and Grandpa's home.. our other children were so excited to be there and see all the presents, but Cassie was sound asleep through all of it.. she was on the couch the entire time. She would not wake for anything. After about 3 hours of being there Trent put her in jammies and took her to the bedroom to lay her down.. then she woke up, and was interested in opening her "loot". She is so silly! She did not go to bed until the wee hours of the morning.. due to her fabulous nap!
We had a good visit, saw a lot of family, some came to town to celebrate New Years with us... and we got the chance to see Grandma Winder one last time before she returned to Heaven!
We love you all and promise to work hard to come to the Crook reunion this year... So maybe the lectures of how... "we never see you" and "it's been 5 years"... cut back ;)

In Loving Memory
I just wanted to post a short simple memorial for Gem Winder, Trent's Grandmother.
Gem Passed way Tuesday the 6th Of January after having a massive stroke a week prior. We were fortunate enough to have been in Idaho Falls For New Year and were able to go and see her with the children before she passed. She was not awake when we saw her but I could feel a very comfortable spirit in the room and It has made her passing more of a comfort.
Trent lived in the same home with Gem for 7 or 8 years before he moved out and has a great love for her. We have a great love and respect for Gem. She was a very strong women. She loved to paint and had done some beautiful work there. She had a love of her lounge chair and her soaps... got to love that! She taught me how to play many a card game and when ever I play pinnacle I will think of her. She taught me how to hang clothing on the line without them feeling stiff afterwards!
She was a wonderful woman and she will be missed.
We love you Gem!

No Place like home
We decided to come home on Saturday due to weather and just wanting one more day to get stuff done in Idaho Falls. We really enjoyed our visit with all of Trent's family. several of his Aunts and Uncles came and it was great to get to see so many of you. It has truly been to long, for some it had been as much as 5 years since our last seeing each other.
The Children got some awesome loot from Santa! They got the one big thing they each asked for and some little things that they had been eying the past few months. I really enjoyed the message that our children got this year and am really contemplating changing the way we do Christmas in the future. I loved that we were able to focus on the Birth of Christ for Christmas day and that we did not hassle with the gifts until the weekend. It was the first time I think both the older children really understood the reason for the season.
Well we came home to mountains of snow... It looks like we are heading for a big winter here again, but this is sooner than last year, it took til February to get mountains of snow like this last year... I wonder what is in store now.
I am really feeling well, my incisions look good and except for some diet changes to make digesting foods easier (gas and runnies) I love that I am not hurting anymore. I will meet with the surgeon in the next few weeks to go over what the biopsy showed and hopefully it is all good and we can be done with this chapter of my life... I do not love being sick. I am enjoying the weight loss that I am having and it has given me some real incentive to loose weight this year. I just want to feel healthier. I have already started modifying my diet and am going to start going to the gym in the next few weeks, when the doctor clears me. Here is to a skinnier me!
When I find my camera, I will post pictures of our trip. It may take a few days to get the house sorted, I forgot how sick and medicated I have been, I can not find Trent's socks... I am not sure where I put them away but I remember folding a lot of socks the day before I went to the hospital... huh... no idea what I did there. I am not sure where a few things are to be honest.. looks like I will be finding things in the next week! :)
I am excited for Trent to be able to return to work and the two older children to return to school... we all need space!
